Old Master, New Energy

Nightwatch and Rembrandt van Rijn

Today is Rembrandt’s birthday, here are some interesting similarities between his painting, The Nightwatch, and our drink.

Our works of art carry the same name.

Guayusa’s first mention came from Amazon missionaries around Rembrandt’s birthday on the 15th of July 1608.

The Quichua tribe men drank guayusa to keep the night's watch over their community and called themselves the Nightwatch men. The Amsterdam tribe men also drank, kept the nights watch over their village and called themselves the Nightwatch men.

The Nightwatch tribe is very much part of the nowadays Amsterdam tribe descended from the tribes-men in the magnificent painting.

Nightwatch is Proud to have so much in common with the Nightwatch!
